O Γνωστός μουσικοσυνθέτης Σπύρος Σαμοΐλης έχει κυκλοφορήσει ένα ωραίο τραγούδι με τον τίτλο " Χριστός γεννάται ". Τους στίχους υπογράφει ο ποιητής Άρης Κανδηλάπτης.

Μπορούν δύο φωνές με τη συνοδεία μόνο μια κιθάρας, λίγων κρουστών και ενός πιάνου να δώσουν ένα αποτέλεσμα ανώτερο από αυτό που θα έδιναν πολυπληθείς ορχήστρες με χορωδίες;
Ναι, οι αδελφές Aly and Aj αποδεικνύουν ότι αυτό γίνεται.
Με λίγα όργανα δίνουν μια εκπληκτική ερμηνεία των πιο ωραίων χριστουγεννιάτικων τραγουδίών, μένοντας πιστές στις αρχικές μελωδίες. Έχουμε βαρεθεί τις διάφορες ντίβες που αναλώνονται σε άσκοπες κορώνες μόνο και μόνο για να αποδείξουν ότι μπορούν να τις κάνουν και καταστρέφουν έτσι τις υπέροχες χριστουγεννιάτικες μελωδίες. Εντάξει, έχετε ωραίες φωνές! Το εμπεδώσαμε! Αφήστε τις χριστουγεννιάτικες μελωδίες στην ησυχία τους!

ΧΡΙΣΤΟΥΓΕΝΝΑ με την Loreena

H Loreena Μc Kennit είναι μια Καναδέζα τραγουδοποιός που που εδώ και περίπου τριάντα χρόνια μας δίνει ωραία, γαλήνια ethnik μουσική.
Ήδη απ' τα πρώτα της άλμπουμς τραγούδησε ωραία Χριστουγεννιάτικα τραγούδια, κυρίως παραδοσιακά με κέλτικο ήχο. Το 2008 κυκλοφόρησε ακόμη ένα Χριστουγεννιάτικο άλμπουμ, το " A midwinter Night' s dream ".

Η ίδια έχει αναφερθεί πολλές φορές στην βαθύτατη επίδραση που άσκησε η Χριστιανική και ειδικά η Χριστουγεννιάτικη μουσική στο έργο της και στο ανεπανάληπτο αίσθημα που βίωνε ως μικρό παιδί στις Εκκλησίες της πατρίδας της.

Κάποιοι προσπάθησαν να την χαρακτηρίσουν ως new ager λόγω κάποιων αναφορών τραγουδιών της στην Κέλτικη μυθολογία. Όμως η ίδια ποτέ δεν αποδέχτηκε αυτόν τον χαρακτηρισμό ενώ συχνά συμμετέχει σε διάφορα Χριστουγεννιάτικα shows, καθώς δίνει βαρύνουσα σημασία στην Χριστουγεννιάτικη μουσική παράδοση ενώ πολλές ηχογραφήσεις της έγιναν σε παλαιούς Ιρλανδικούς ναούς. Οι αναφορές της στην Κέλτικη μυθολογία δηλώνουν μια νοσταλγία για τον κόσμο του παραμυθιού, είναι ένα φολκλορικό στοιχείο, δεν έχει θρησκευτική σημασία. Όπως εμείς δεν σημαίνει ότι λατρεύουμε τον Δία επειδή έχουμε στο γραφείο κάποιο σουβενίρ-αντίγραφο αρχαίου γλυπτού ή επειδή διαβάζουμε ένα παραμύθι με νεράιδες και καλλικάντζαρους.

Tα Χριστούγεννα δίνουν το μήνυμα της αγάπης. Χαρακτηριστικό του πνεύματος των ημερών είναι το " Good King Wenceslas ". Προέρχεται απ' την Φινλανδική Χριστουγεννιάτικη παράδοση και γράφτηκε περίπου το 1500. Ένας βασιλιάς φροντίζει ένας φτωχός συνάνθρωπός του να περάσει ευτυχισμένα Χριστούγεννα.

Το " God rest ye merry gentlemen " πρωτοεκδόθηκε το 1831. Είναι απ' τα παλαιότερα παραδοσιακά κάλαντα. Θεωρείται πως οι στίχοι του ανάγονται σε εποχή πριν απ' τον 15ο αιώνα.

ΠΑΡΑΔΟΣΙΑΚΑ ΚΑΛΑΝΤΑ

Ο πλούτος της λαϊκής μας παράδοσης είναι ανεξάντλητος. Και φέρει ανεξίτηλα χαραγμένη πάνω της την σφραγίδα της Χριστιανικής Εκκλησίας.

Η Ορθόδοξη Θεολογία είναι εμφανής σε όλα τα « κάλαντα ». Έτσι, ο λαός μυείται στην Θεολογία της Εκκλησίας με έναν τρόπο ευχάριστο και πρακτικώτατο.


ΚΑΛΑΝΤΑ ΣΜΥΡΝΗΣ





ΚΑΛΑΝΤΑ ΧΡΙΣΤΟΥΓΕΝΝΩΝ

Οι Βυζαντινοί Χριστουγεννιάτικοι ύμνοι της Εκκλησίας μας είναι ωραιότατοι και συγκινούν βαθύτατα τους πιστούς. Σύμφωνα με την μαρτυρία του αδελφού του, ο Νίκος Ξυλούρης είχε βαθύτατα επηρεαστεί από την Βυζαντινή μουσική. Το σπίτι της οικογένειας ήταν στο στενό δίπλα ακριβώς απ' την Εκκλησία. « θυμάμαι που ο Νίκος τυλιγμένος σε μια κουβέρτα έψαλλε με ενθουσιασμό βυζαντινά τροπάρια » ανέφερε σε συνέντευξή του ο αδελφός του. Στο παρακάτω βίντεο ακούμε τον Νίκο Ξυλούρη να ερμηνεύει τον ύμνο « Η Παρθένος σήμερον ».
